ReturnTrace records a verified Shopify product baseline, captures later catalog changes for merchant approval, and builds bounded before-and-after return cohort evidence after enough activity matures.

ReturnTrace reports observational correlation. It cannot prove that a catalog change caused a return outcome, reconstruct changes before the baseline, or provide evidence when required Shopify access is incomplete. Public installation and paid activation have not been enabled.

Prospective baseline

A study begins with a complete API snapshot and the product’s current Shopify update time.

Merchant review

Signed product-update events are hints. A complete API recheck must verify the candidate before the merchant approves the boundary.

Bounded cohorts

Normalized order, fulfillment, and return facts support before-and-after rates with coverage and uncertainty fields.
